Happy Holidays to all from Don Hudson Racing

Look for big changes in 2005 for Don and team..
August
4, 2004 Sonoma
California Autolite
Nationals

The Home event for Don
Hudson Racing was this past weekend at Infineon
Raceway. This race has always been tough as the
best TAD drivers on the west coast converge on
the state of the art drag strip. With the weather
in the high 60's and 70's all weekend we did not
get the hot conditions more favorable to the BAD's
we were hoping for, but we still wanted to give
it a home team effort.

Press
release for Seattle's NW Nationals
Don has been on a "roller
coaster" ride so far this season in TAD competition.
After qualifying #1 at
Pomona he was full of optimism, but went out in
round two and then at Vegas he was a first round
casualty. At Divisional races, he has a win and
a couple r/u's to go along with two semi final
finishes. These results have him sitting #11 nationally,
and #2 divisionally. But are one spot lower than
he and the team were hoping for. With the expected
heat this weekend, the chance for a blown car
to succeed are better than 50/50 and he has one
of the best-blown cars in the country. He has
been under the weather for the last few weeks
and a race win would be just the tonic for him
and the team, as they want momentum for their
home national event at Sonoma next weekend.
Don would like to thank all his sponsors including
Chase Chevrolet for their support and to all his
crew for their hard work so far this season and
all his friends for their help in moving his family
to their new 'digs'.
Don also wants to put out
congratulations to the "KID" Morgan
Lucas on his new driving gig with Joe Amato Racing.
"Way to go, even though I have kicked your
butt twice this season".

Don
is ready to battle this weekend at Sonoma for
the Lucas Oil event at Infineon Raceway. After
the tough battle three weeks ago at Woodburn where
the team went to the semi finals he knows he is
in for a tough go for the second race in a row.
The surface and prep at Sonoma is great and I
expect we will be at or near the top of the pack
after qualifying. We need a good result to stay
in the hunt for the division championship, and
have to keep Chris Demke in our sites. He is one
round ahead of us and we want the Peen Rite team
bad!

tuned for all the action here and at Speedzonemagazine.com

May
21, 2004 Bakersfield
California is the stop for Don Hudson and team
for the Pacific Division's 4th Lucas Oil event
of the 2004 season. With two runner-ups at the
team's first two events, they are primed to take
the next step and get away from the bridesmaid
label. Bakersfield has been both good and bad
for Don, as last year he went to the final, defeating
Chris Demke (round 1) and Fred Notzka (semis)
before bowing out to Mark Niver in the final round.
Two years earlier Don lost in round one to Kevin
Brown. Don wants to seek revenge on two final
round losses to Demke this season, and Demke wants
to get Don after losing to him at this race last
year. The team has all their ducks in a row this
weekend, and will do what it takes to get the
win. Check back throughout the weekend to see
how we are doing.

Hudson
Racing wants to one-up his 2003 result here in
2004.
Don Hudson came oh so close
at the 2003 version of the Summit Nationals, here
at the Strip @ Las Vegas
Motor Speedway. He went to the final round against
the most buoyed BAD in 2003, David Wells (driving
the ex-Rick Santos car and tuned by Norm Grimes),
and was side by side against David until late
in the run, and ended up losing by half car length.
That result set up the Stockton California owner/driver
take a more aggressive run in his program.
Don ended the year with
two runner-ups and a #6 placing in the tough Division
7 point standings and a top 30th placing in the
National standings.
The
team went into the 2004 season with more optimism,
and a confidence to improve both placing's. The
team had a great start at the season opening Winternational's,
as Don qualified #1 with a career best 5.379/251.
He backed up that run, in round one, with a win
over Randy Johnson with another 5.30 (a 5.39).
In round two, he wheel stood the car big time
and unfortunately had to lift. At the next event,
the divisional at Phoenix, Don proved the #1 spot
was not fluke, as he took the pole again. He went
to the final round, but lost to Chris Demke. His
two late round finishes put him in the top ten
nationally in this, the early part of the season.
Heading into Vegas, he wants to continue the roll.
With a very tough field expected at Vegas he knows
5.30's or low 5.40's will be necessary and expected
from his "Chase Chevrolet" backed BAD.
Beside Chase Chevrolet,
Don has some added support for this weekend's
event at Las Vegas. It comes from Busted Knuckles
garage.com, "The Gift Company with an Automotive
Flair", and Tiki
Farm.com, "a unique gift mug company".
As well, Don wants to thank the team's associate
sponsors, Red Line Oil, Clay Smith Cams, Vorn
Hagen Body Shop, E-Pels of Palm Spring California,
PJ Vaz, Lenco Transmissions and Hudson Classics.
While the team is under
no illusions that they can ride on the coat tails
of their success of the last two events, especially
in a sport that lasts only 5 seconds, and you
can go from "Hero to Zero" quicker than
John Force can say, "I saw Elvis at 1000
feet".
They know a top three finish in the division and
a top 15 finish nationally are both within reach.
